This is a vintage original one sheet poster for the first American release of the beloved 1942 romantic drama film Casablanca.  This film was directed by Michael Curtiz and featured an all-star cast including Humphrey Bogart, Ingrid Bergman, Paul Henreid, Peter Lorre and Sydney Greenstreet among others.  Casablanca was an impressive commercial success and an even greater critical success earning eight Academy Award nominations and winning three including the Oscar for Best Picture at the 16th Academy Awards.   The film has only grown in stature since its initial release in 1942 and is today universally recognized as one of the greatest movies ever made.    

This poster has been professionally conservation mounted to linen with minimal expert touchup as needed.  Prior to linen backing the poster had minor paper loss at the intersection of the middle crossfold and a few tiny bits of surface paper loss and tiny tears on some fold lines and on the edges in a few spots which have all been expertly repaired during the linen backing process.   One small circular stain about a half inch in diameter shows lightly in the background area on the right side below Bogart’s lapel. Overall condition is very good.
