This vintage original travel poster was designed by French naval officer and artist Luc-Marie Bayle and issued by the French National Railways in 1954.  This poster features a stylized pictorial map design locating various French regional landmarks and points of interest set against an outline of the country.  This poster was issued in a couple different variations and this is the English language edition with a title across the bottom that reads DISCOVER FRANCE BY TRAIN.   Luc-Marie Bayle’s name is signed in print in the lower left corner of the image area.  The lower margin indicates this poster was printed in France by the French National Railways in 1954 and identifies the printer as Hubert Baille & Cie – Paris.  

This vintage original poster has been professionally backed to linen with expert repair to a few tears without paper loss on the edges.  The colors retain the original vividness and the poster displays very well.  Overall condition is very good.
