This vintage original pre-war German travel poster highlights the scenic coast of Northern Germany.   This poster was created by the artist Werner von Axster-Heudtlass who along with this wife Maria operated an important graphic design studio in Berlin.   The Axster-Heudtlass studio produced several German travel posters as well as postage stamps and provided graphic design services to major clients including Lufthansa, Siemens and others.  The von Axster-Heudtlass name is signed in print in the lower left corner of the image area and the lower right corner indicates this poster was published by Reichsbahnzentrale für den Deutschen Reiseverkehr, the official German state tourism office.

This poster has been professionally linen backed with some expert touchup as needed including repair to a tear of a few inches on the bottom edge.   The poster had some small edge tears, creases and small abrasions which were repaired during the linen backing process.  The original colors are strongly retained.  Interested buyers can contact us for photos of the poster prior to linen backing.  Overall condition is very good for this striking vintage original 1930s travel poster for Northern Germany’s scenic coast.
