This rare vintage original WWII poster was created by Nebraska born artist John Falter and issued by the U.S. Navy in 1943 to help recruit women for office work in Washington D.C. For this poster Falter renders an image of two women sharply dressed in civilian garb walking along The Mall in Washington D.C. on what looks like a beautiful fall day. Text on the poster reads:

Stenographers Typists Clerks – The Navy Needs You In Washington – Good pay, Attractive housing – Inquire at your U.S. Employment Service Office or See Civil Service Representative at Post Office

The date 20 December 1943 is printed in the lower margin and the artist’s name, John Falter USNR, is signed in print on the lower right edge of the image.

This vintage original poster was never used and has no tape or pinholes and just light handling wear including edges slightly bumped in spots. There is a short half inch tear on the bottom edge and some bumping along the bottom edge. The colors remain strong and overall condition is very good.
