This beautiful Mid-Century poster promoting Portugal as a travel destination was issued in 1959.  This poster features the Barcelos Cockerel or Rooster of Barcelos which was a symbol of Portugal originating in Portuguese folklore.  This vintage original poster is printed with the name of the Portuguese tourism office in New York City as Casa De Portugal.  The lower margin shows a 1959 date and indicates the poster was printed in Portugal by Lito. Costa & Valerio of Lisboa.   

This vintage original poster is free of tape and shows moderate handling wear including pinholes in the upper corners and at the top center edge.   The poster has a couple short tears including one tear of about two inches on the left edge near the upper corner but nothing torn off or missing.   The colors retain their original vibrancy and the poster displays beautifully.  Basic linen backing could get this looking near perfect.   Overall condition is very good.
