This antique original poster was issued in Canada to help promote the sale of Victory Bonds on the Canadian home front. The poster features the image of a soldier in the kilt uniform of one of the Canadian-Scottish Regiments that maintained military traditions and style of dress inspired by Scottish regiments. The poster’s use of the image of a soldier from one of these Canadian Scottish Regiments enhanced the poster's appeal to the many Canadians of Scottish descent that felt a prideful connection to their ancestral motherland and the military traditions they inspired.
This original antique poster has been professionally linen backed with expert repair making a couple short tears on the edges and a tear of a couple inches on the top edge nearly invisible. The poster retains strong color and displays beautifully. Overall condition is very good.
