This vintage original poster featuring the likeness of Olympic champion skier Jean-Claude Killy was issued by United Airlines in the late 1960s.   The poster features the image of a smiling Killy set against competitive skiers with text that reads Take A Tip From Jean-Claude Killy fly the friendly skies of United – The Airline Of Sports Champions.   The artist’s name “Otero” appears in the center right of the image area.   This poster isn’t dated but Killy won Gold at the 1968 Winter Olympics and this poster was probably issued around that time or shortly thereafter.   

This rare poster shows moderate handling wear and a pinhole on both the upper and lower corners on the right side.   There is a small closed pinhole tear on the lower left corner and a small pinhole tear notch off the top edge on the upper right corner.  The edges are a bit bumped in a couple spots and couple small abrasions or slight scuffs and some toning from age.  The poster displays nicely as is or could look almost new with basic linen backed and touch up.  Overall condition is very good.  We only located two auction records in the last ten years for this rare poster.
