This vintage original poster was created by the artists Lamberto Barbi and Giorgio Benvignati and issued by ENIT, the official Italian government tourism authority, to promote the city of Padua or Padova as it is shown on this English language edition poster. For this poster Barbi and Benvignati render an image of the wooden Trojan Horse inside the Great Hall of the Palazzo della Ragione with the Basilica di Sant’Antonio visible in the background. The Trojan Horse is symbolic of Padova’s connection to ancient Troy as the city was founded in 1183 BC by the Trojan prince Antenor. The lower margin indicates this poster was printed by Barabino & Graeve of Genova.
This vintage original poster has been professionally linen backed with some minor touch up as needed including expert repair to a tear of a couple inches without paper loss on the right edge near the upper corner as well as a couple short tears and small abrasions on the edges. The colors retain their original richness and the poster displays beautifully. Overall condition is very good.
