This is a rare Polish language poster for John F. Kennedy’s 1960 presidential campaign issued by the Polish-American Campaign Citizens For Kennedy-Johnson. This poster features a floating photographic image of President Kennedy’s head urges Polish Americans to vote for the Kennedy Johnson and also to volunteer for the campaign. Text on the poster translates roughly in part to: Countrymen! Let us stand up to the election battle with “God and Country” on our lips as our ancestors did. Let us vote so that Polish affairs are close to the White House. LET’S VOTE FOR SENATOR KENNEDY FOR PRESIDENT!
A Scranton, Pennsylvania Allied Printing Trades union emblem is printed on the lower right corner. This vintage original poster is unrestored and has been mounted to a rigid paperboard backing which was probably done at the time the time the poster was used and could likely be removed from the backing by a competent conservator if you wanted to do that. The poster has small notch off the top edge near the upper right corner not affecting text or illustration. The poster has some abrasions, creases, small nicks on the edges and general wear throughout but still displays nicely. Overall condition is good.
