This is a vintage original poster was created by the prolific and influential American artists Howard Chandler Christy for the Will Rogers Memorial Fund which was established shortly after Rogers perished with aviator, good friend and fellow Oklahoman Wiley Post in a plane crash near Point Barrow, Alaska in August 1935.

Rogers was born into the Cherokee Nation in the Indian Territory in what is today Oklahoma in 1879.   Rogers started as a Vaudeville performer and got his break in show business as a rope trick performer with the Ziegfield Follies.  Rogers went on to star in more than 70 movies, published 4,000 newspaper columns and become a humorist and social commentator beloved by millions for his folksy homespun wit.  Rogers was also an advocate for improving the aviation infrastructure of the United States which led him to fly with Wiley Post on that fateful day in Alaska.   Shortly after his accidental death in 1935 the Will Rogers Memorial Fund was established to carry on his charitable work.

This vintage original poster has been professionally linen backed with just minimal touch up as needed.   The poster displays beautifully and overall condition is excellent.
